The six months ending in June saw gambling revenue in Macau exceed MOP80.14bn, an increase of 205.1% year-on-year, which is equivalent to £7.82bn, €9.13bn, or $9.94bn.
Revenue for the first half of the year in Macau was MOP26.27bn, which is a substantial increase over the previous year. Nevertheless, the temporary shutdown of casinos in accordance with COVID-19 restrictions in Macau affected the results for 2022.

The government's "zero-Covid" policy was loosened in response to widespread demonstrations against its harshness and duration.

The number of planes into China is now unlimited, and quarantine is no longer a need for visitors from outside the country.

Monthly revenue decline in June
With 513.9% more revenue than in the same month a year ago, June's total of MOP15.21bn was down 2.3% from May's MOP15.57bn.

It has been months since Macau declared that fresh concessions would be available to regional casino companies, and June finally arrived.

The additional concessions were applied for by seven different people. The following were among the participants: Genting Malaysia, Galaxy Entertainment Group, Las Vegas Sands, MGM Resorts International, Melco Resorts, SJM Resorts, and Wynn Resorts.

Genting was left out when the six operators who were already present in Macau were selected.

Starting on January 1, 2032, the new concessions will run until December 31, 2032.
